Undergraduate Program
The undergraduate program of the Department of Religious Studies is committed to
offering a wide variety of courses that individually and collectively serve to illuminate
the role of religion in forming and shaping the socio-cultural worlds of the past,
present. The program endeavors to assist students in thinking and communicating
in a scholarly manner about religion in all the times and climes of its manifestation.
Students in the program come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and experiences.
Like USF as a whole, the department is wonderfully diversified. This is reflected
in our faculty community as well as our student community. As the department’s
census of majors has grown so has its diversity.
Prospective majors, minors and other students in the University are encouraged to
consult the university catalog and the department webpage for a formal description
of the program, requirements for the degree, and course offerings.
